Personality: She is often carefree and kind, but there are dark emotions buried deep inside her, courtesy of her abusive family. She always has a smile on her face no matter what the situation. Some people would go so far as to call her a sadist, since her smile seems to grow wider when administering pain. If that smile leaves her face, you know shit's about to go down. This doesn't happen very often though, as you REALLY have to drive her over the edge.

Stressful situations tend to get very... Stressful for her. Often times she can handle it, but usually she'll try to dump her problems on someone else. Her reliability is a bit questionable at times, but she never breaks a promise, no matter how ridiculous it is. (This causes some serious problems for her at times).

She has a strong hatred for the Templars because of her family. Deep down, it's possible that she hates herself as well since she was born to a Templar household.

Biography: In the year of 1485, in an estate just outside of the British town of York, a child was born to the Payne family. It would have been a joyous occasion, had the child been male. But no, it was yet another girl that God had sent down unto this family. There were already four others born over the past ten years, all of them female. This child was the family's last hope for a male heir.

For generations, the Payne family consisted of great alchemists and powerful mages in the tales of yore. However, their reputation has gone down over the years as all "magic" left the bloodline, and soon they were near to facing a life of poverty. It was only during the Third Crusades that they were able to regain their stature. As they fought against the Saracens in the Holy Land, they secretly allied themselves with the Templar Order, so that they could gain more power and wealth. For a few years, it worked, and they were once again in favor to the Royal family. For commendable actions during the war, King Richard the Lionheart granted them the wealth and the means to rebuild their family name. It wasn't long after when the Templars were dismantled in the Holy Land in 1191. By then, the Payne family had already left for England and were relatively unaffected.

However, over time their influence dwindled, and it is here that we find the family with four female children with no hope of gaining a son. The father, Nathaniel Payne, was frustrated by their failure to produce an heir, and so began to live in the delusion that the newborn was in fact the son they had longed for, even bestowing upon her his own name. His delusion met much opposition from the rest of the family. But in the end, they all complied. Over the first few years of her life, Nathaniel was treated just like any other upper class boy living in that time. She learned reading, arithmetic, and the arts along with physical skills such as sword fighting, archery, and horseback riding. Her hair was never grown long and she often played rough with the other kids. This worked for a time, but as she grew older it was harder and harder to mask her true gender.

At age eleven, Nathaniel started going through puberty, and certain things spiraled out of the family's control. She started to develop certain habits that led people to question her sexuality. It was during this time that the young Nathaniel learned the truth about herself. She confronted her father about this, but he simply denied her claims. However, she persisted and was eventually punished by her father for her blasphemous ideas. Whenever she spoke or did something even remotely feminine, she was whipped by his hands. Confusion, followed by anger and disgust at her family led her to hate them. Despite this, her training continued as usual.

In 1497, Nathaniel was admitted into the Templar order as a squire at age thirteen. Word had already spread that she was only playing the role of a man, but the order had no problem with this, provided that she was useful. Her first assignment was to accompany her father and an influential Templar to Rome, where Borgia power was steadily increasing. They were to serve under this Templar as body guards while he met with Pope Alexander VI. Seeing this as an opportunity, young Nathaniel made preparations for an escape. During the long journey from Yorkshire to Rome, she gathered as many items as she could and hid them away in her luggage as provisions. These consisted of items such as food, cloth, hair dye, and more. Upon arrival in Rome, Nathaniel made plans with the local thieves while her father was away to create a distraction so that she could flee.

Much to her surprise, the plan went smoothly and she was able to hide in the Roman countryside for a few days. During this time, she met an old man who ran a well known apothecary in the city. He agreed to let her stay with him and make her his apprentice, on the condition that she complete various and strenuous tasks (which shall be named later). After a series of bizarre events not worth mentioning at the moment, young Nathaniel found a new home and a new trade. For five years, she lived a quiet, happy life. The old man had an extensive collection of medical books and so her days were often spent reading and absorbing as much information as possible. Her hair had grown out from its short cut and had been dyed black. Her name was changed to Lavinia Avrelli, adopting the old man's last name.

In 1502, Mr. Avrelli was arrested by the Papal guards on the charge that he handed out poisons to a local assassin in order to kill the pope. Found guilty, he was hanged the next day and the shop was burned down. Lavinia managed to escaped the fire, along with one of the medical books that she so dearly cherished. Her luck only went down from there. With no money and no place to live, she was a desperate case. At one point she was so near starvation that she resorted to eating some of the pages of the book. Shortly after, she was saved by a local thief. Well, more like found and then dragged back to La Volpe to see whether she was worth saving. La Volpe decided to have her complete some very interesting tasks in order for her to join the thieves. These tasks were even stranger than what she had to do for Mr. Avrelli, but that is for another time. After more bizarre and outlandish events, she was accepted by La Volpe, and so began her life as a thief.

For the next eight years, she patrolled the streets of Rome as a skilled pickpocket, liberating people of their frivolous possessions. When Ezio Auditore da Firenze came to the city, she learned of how the people responsible for the destruction of her past livelihood were controlled by the Templars. This only spurned her hate for them even more. After Pope Alexander VI was assassinated, Lavinia decided that she could not stand idly by anymore. In 1505, she departed Rome and traveled to Constantinople to aid the Assassins stationed there. As a day job, she opened an apothecary in the city, in memory of Mr. Avrelli, who had taught her all he could about the business. Her name was changed to Ahla Sahin.

In the year of 1511, after serving the Assassins as an ally for a few years, she was finally accepted into the brotherhood as a recruit.

She is a natural blonde. To keep her hair dyed black, she must occasionally stock up on hair dye, the making of which involves catching lizards.
She always carries around a packet of herbs and a blunt object, just in case.
She does not like ducks. Period.
